Dear Friends,
Two of my greatest passions in life have long been music and relationships, and it has been my experience that the concept of harmony is very central to both environments.
In music, harmony brings single notes and simple melodies to life. A solo voice becomes a duet, a trio, a chorus, an orchestra. In relationships, harmony yields cooperation, collaboration, shared values and principles. One person becomes a family, a team, a company, a community.
Harmony in both respects embraces equally the moments that are relaxed and the moments that are tense. In music, these are consonant and dissonant chords. In relationships, these are celebrations and arguments.
In 2011, while continuing to immerse myself in music, I suddenly craved an opportunity to further examine the concept of harmony in personal and professional relationships. I had been introduced to the DiSC model of behavior several years earlier, and I had already experienced the positive influence that it had had on my own life, as well as the lives of others. I wanted to do more with it, and I welcomed the challenge of building a small coaching and consulting business that would allow me to pursue that passion.
I founded Harmony Insights in 2011, combining terms that were particularly meaningful to me into a company name that I hoped would imply different things to different people. Still, being naturally analytical, I couldn’t help but wonder whether “Harmony Insights” had the ring to it that I intended for it to have.
Then, one day I received an e-mail from The Napoleon Hill Foundation with the heading, “There is harmony throughout the universe in everything but human relationships.” It went on to state that, “Achieving harmony in any relationship — business, personal, or professional — requires work.”
It was then that I knew I was on the right path. Using DiSC as a common language, I could help provide the valuable perspective and action planning that people need to increase self-awareness, better understand others, and improve overall effectiveness in life and business.
Tension at work? We can address it. Trouble identifying strengths and passions? We can uncover them. Unclear as to the behaviors that got you where you are or the decisions that will get you to where you want to be? DiSC lays the foundation for progress in all of these areas and more, and its benefits extend equally to individuals and organizations alike.
Allow me to demonstrate what Harmony Insights and the DiSC model can do for you.
Sincerely,
