NOTE: Free to current Chicago SHRM members; not open to public
Join the Chicago SHRM Transition Committee on March 1st for an introduction to the Career Transitions Center (CTC) of Chicago and the opportunity to work on your own “brand.” CTC is a non-profit that offers high value, low-cost transition services, including weekly one-on-one coaching. In addition to the introduction to CTC, CTC Director Anita Jenke will be conducting a condensed version of “Power Communication,” which is one of the programs they offer.
8:30 – 9:00am Registration and Networking
9:00 – 9:20am Introductions
9:20 – 10:20am Power Communication program
10:20 – 10:45am Networking
The focus will be on the development of a Values Statement (otherwise known as an Elevator Pitch). This workshop will help you examine success, values and aspirations to develop your values statement. It is critical during a job search that you can clearly and compellingly convey how you impact an organization or group of people through what you offer. It helps others help you. Getting the word out about who you are and how you contribute is at the heart of the job search process. The values statement helps you with branding and positioning on your resume and LinkedIn profiles.
